Bini K John, PhD, CMSRN, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stony Brook University School of Nursing Department of Graduate Studies. Dr. John completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at the University of Phoenix, as well as a Master of Science in Maternal and Child Health and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Christian Medical College of Nursing, Punjab, India.

Dr. John’s doctoral research broadly addresses patient satisfaction and nursing quality care indicators such as patient falls, UPAU, CLABSI, and CAUTI in four different medical surgical telemetry units in a tertiary level of hospital. Specifically, she explores the relationship between using patient satisfaction scores from the Press Ganey survey and incidence of nursing quality care indicators from the NDNQI program. In addition, Dr. John is integrally involved in the development of the care delivery model for multidisciplinary healthcare professionals on patient satisfaction and nursing quality care indicators. 

After serving as an Assistant Director of Nursing and a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical Surgical Telemetry at Stony Brook Medicine and Hospital, Dr. John accepted the position of Clinical Instructor and was later promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Graduate Studies in School of Nursing, Stony Brook University.
