Dr. Janet Marie Galiczewski is a Clinical Associate Professor and Chair of Undergraduate Studies. Dr. Galiczewski received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Molloy College. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Stony Brook University School of Nursing. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society in 1988. She is a Nationally Certified Critical Care Nurse since 1990 and is currently practicing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Galiczewski has a diverse clinical background, specializing in Medical/Surgical Intensive Care and Pulmonary Medicine. She is a five time recipient of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center’s Center of Nursing Excellence Award and received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Gamma Chapter. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). Dr. Galiczewski also serves as a nurse resident facilitator at Stony Brook Medicine, UHC/AACN Nurse Residency Program. Her scholarly interests include improving clinical nursing practice for better patient outcomes with emphasis on ventilator-associated pneumonia and catheter associated urinary tract infections in the Intensive Care Unit.
