Professor Janine DeSimone is a clinical instructor in the graduate division of Stony Brook University School of Nursing. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and is expected to receive her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins University in May 2023. She currently teaches in the graduate psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner program. 
Professor DeSimone has a diverse clinical background, with experience in emergency and psychiatric nursing. Professor DeSimone is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner committed to using the highest standards of care, evidence-based practice protocols, and emerging research to provide safe, effective care to her patients. 
Professor DeSimone’s research focus is on improving the quality of mental healthcare with the use of measurement-based care and digital technology. In addition, she is committed to identifying various methods to reduce inconsistencies and variations in mental health care to improve the health outcomes of populations across the lifespan.  
She is a member of the American Association for Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her scholarly interests include novel therapeutic approaches for patients with psychiatric disorders.
