Professor Rakiya Watts joins Stony Brook School of Nursing as Assistant Clinical Professor and she will be teaching courses in the graduate Midwifery Program. She is a full scope practicing midwife with over 11 years of experience. She received her nursing and midwifery education from Yale School of Nursing and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Boston College. She has special interests in women’s health, breastfeeding, and Centering Pregnancy. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Rakiya is excited to maintain her clinical skills while teaching the new generation of nurse midwives through midwifery education.
