Pam is an Assistant Professor at the Stony Brook University School of Nursing and has a joint appointment at the Stony Brook Cancer Center, Division of Population Science. Dr Ginex began her nursing career at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and worked for 18 years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, as a research nurse and nurse scientist. Most recently, she was the Senior Manager for Evidence-based Practice and Inquiry at the Oncology Nursing Society, where she held a national leadership role in developing evidence-based guidelines on interventions to support patients with cancer throughout the treatment trajectory.
As a nurse scientist, Pam’s program of research is focused on improving care for people with cancer. Her work focuses on using patient-centered clinical data to understand symptom patterns and identifying evidence-based interventions to support patients during their cancer treatment and survivorship. She is passionate about working with oncology nurses and students to implement evidence-based practice changes at the point of care with a focus on equity in nursing education, practice, and research
