Professor Ginex joined the Stony Brook University School of Nursing in 2021 as an Assistant Professor and has a joint appointment at the Stony Brook Cancer Center, Division of Population Science. Dr Ginex began her nursing career at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and has worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Nurse Scientist and at the Oncology Nursing Society, where she held a national leadership role in developing evidence-based guidelines on interventions to support patients with cancer throughout the treatment trajectory.
Pam’s research program is focused on improving care for people with cancer. Her work focuses on understanding symptom patterns and identifying evidence-based interventions to support patients during treatment and survivorship. She is also interested in the effect of climate change and climate disasters on patients, the healthcare workforce and health care institutions. She is passionate about educating nurses and working with multidisciplinary colleagues to implement evidence-based practice changes at the point of care with a focus on equity in education, practice, and research
