My role as a co-investigator included active participation as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team for 33 clinical research studies sponsored by the federal government (20) and industry (12).  Most studies were aimed at the development of effective antiretroviral treatment(s) for youth living with HIV-infection (YLWH). Responsibilities included recruitment, data collection, clinical care of study participants, patient and family education, completion of case reports, and attendance at regularly study scheduled meetings. Findings from these studies provided evidence to develop effective antiretroviral therapies for the care, treatment and prevention of pediatric HIV-infection.
