The Stony Brook University School of Nursing offers 33 programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels of study. Our world-class faculty, state-of-the-art clinical simulation capabilities, and dynamic hybrid-online opportunities are enhanced by our position in the greater Stony Brook Medicine system.

Doctoral Programs
The School of Nursing offers two doctoral programs: a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The PhD in Nursing represents the highest level of formal education for a career in nursing research and the scholarship of discovery, while the DNP prepares diverse clinical leaders who can influence healthcare outcomes, critically appraise evidence, and facilitate the transition of best evidence to best practices.

Undergraduate Programs
Our baccalaureate programs provide students with a strong foundation in patient-centered care through rigorous academics and hands-on clinical experiences.
The basic four-year program and 12-month, accelerated program prepare students to deliver evidence-based care, sit for the NCLEX-RN exam, and transition confidently into nursing practice.
