Doctor of Nursing Practice

DNP Admission Criteria


Post-Baccalaureate entry:

1. Registered professional nurse licensure.*
2. Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing from an accredited program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale.**
3. Written statement – see the online application for essay requirements.
4. Three letters of recommendation.
5. Curriculum Vitae and supporting documents.
6. Interview may be required.
7. Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification, malpractice insurance, current University and School of Nursing health requirements.

*Registered professional nurse licensure is required prior to the start of the Fall semester.
** Transcripts from foreign institutions must be evaluated for transfer equivalency credits by an accredited evaluation service, such as the World Education Services (WES) http://www.wes.org



Post-Masters entry:

1. Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program with a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4-point scale.+
2. Registered professional nurse licensure.
3. Advanced practice registered nurse licensure.
4. National certification as a nurse practitioner or nurse-midwife(Preferred).
5. Written statement – see the online application for essay requirements.
6. Three letters of recommendation.
7. Curriculum Vitae and supporting documents.
8. Interview may be required.
9. Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification, malpractice insurance, current University and School of Nursing health requirements.
