Maria C. Dolce, PhD, RN, CNE, FACHE is Associate Professor of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Dolce completed Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Arts, and Baccalaureate of Science degrees at New York University.  She is a nationally and internationally recognized nursing scientist specializing in oral health for vulnerable and underserved populations and communities. Dr. Dolce has a solid record of successful competitive research funding. From 2013-2016, she served as Executive Director and Principal Investigator of Innovations in Oral Health: Technology, Instruction, Practice, Service program funded by the DentaQuest Foundation. Currently, Dr. Dolce is funded by the Health Services and Resources Administration, U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, as Principal Investigator of Nurse Practitioner-Dentist Model for Primary Care, a cooperative agreement to test an innovative interprofessional collaborative practice model; and Co-Investigator of Evaluating Integration of Oral Health and Primary Care Training, in collaboration with Harvard School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Dolce is a Faculty Nurse Scientist at The Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research, The Massachusetts General Hospital.  She serves as a member of the Steering Committee for Smiles for Life: A National Oral Health Curriculum; Scientific Advisory Board for the National Oral Health Children’s Foundation; and manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Dental Education.  Dr. Dolce has authored numerous peer-reviewed professional publications, and presented papers at international and national meetings.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau international, the honor society of Nursing; and Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
