|Drs. M. Buhse & M. Marino
Marijean Buhse, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, MSCN and Marie Marino, EdD, RN, were inducted as fellows of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) and are among an eminent group of nursing leaders selected nationally for the AAN’s 2017 Class of Fellows. This selection is considered among the highest honors in the nursing profession. They were among 170 nurse leaders inducted as fellows on October 7, 2017, during the Academy’s 2017 annual policy conference in Washington, DC.
|Dr. Justin Waryold
Dr. Justin Waryold was selected to receive the NAPLI 2017 Nurse Practitioner of the Year award. In addition to his work in the School of Nursing, he works as an ANP at Dix Hills Medical Associates and volunteers his time at RotaCare, providing health services to those in the community with limited access to healthcare. Dr. Waryold’s accomplishments were honored at the 2017 NPALI Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award Dinner which was held Thursday October 5, 2017.
|Dr. Annie Rohan
Dr. Annie Rohan was awarded $2.2+ million under the HRSA Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students Program. This program promotes diversity among the health professions and nursing workforce by providing awards to eligible health professions and nursing schools for use in awarding scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have a demonstrated financial need and are enrolled full-time in health professions and nursing programs.
