Description: This presentation focuses on new treatment modalities with an emphasis on motivation and pharmacological interventions.
Objectives:
1.) The learner will be able to discuss the principles of weight-centric treatment and goals setting for attaining and maintaining weight loss.
2.) The learner will be able to describe patient motivators for weight loss and weight loss maintenance
3.) The learner will be able to apply evidence-based practice strategies to guide weight-centric treatment to ensure patient success.
4.) The learner will be able to discuss the principles of medical management as adjuvant therapy for attaining and maintaining weight loss.
5.). The learner will be able to describe pharmacologic agents approved for weight loss and weight loss maintenance.
